How It Started
Not Til Now was born from two simple beliefs: that watching someone do something for the first time is one of the most inspiring experiences there is, and that the things that connect us are often far greater than the things that divide us.
After years of helping writers, speakers, and everyday people share their stories, founder Brit Stueven noticed a pattern. Most people weren't lacking talent. They were lacking permission to try, to be imperfect, and most of all, to be seen.
On January 28, 2026, that idea became reality when Not Til Now debuted to a sold-out audience at the Lakewood Cultural Center. The event brought together first-time storytellers, first-time comedians, seasoned performers trying something new, and an audience eager to discover what happens when people choose courage over comfort.
What emerged was something bigger than a show. It was a room full of people seeing themselves and each other differently, laughing with those they never expected to relate to, and finding pieces of themselves in stories that looked nothing like their own.
And in the process, many left with a deeper appreciation for the humanity of others and the realization that courage is contagious.
What We Believe
- Courage is contagious.
- Everyone has a story worth sharing.
- Vulnerability creates connection.
- Laughter breaks down walls.
- You don't have to be extraordinary to matter.
- The things we're most afraid to do often become the experiences we're most proud of.
Meet the Founder
Brit Stueven is a writer, speaker, story coach, event producer, and the creator of Not Til Now.
Over the past two decades, she has helped hundreds of people share their stories through writing programs, live events, community building, and coaching. She is the author of Mama Be Present, founder of the Not Til Now Writing Group, creator of Moms on the Mic, host of the Not Til Now Podcast, and a firm believer that courage shows up before confidence does.
When she's not at her laptop, she's dancing in the kitchen with her son, facing her fears at CrossFit, or plotting future travel with her husband David.
Fun Facts: Brit had 11 imaginary friends when she was little. She is a Colorado native who doesn't ski. (Very injury-prone.) She appeared on House Hunters International while living in Germany, is no longer afraid of spiders thanks to her son's bug obsession, dabbles in stand-up comedy, and is allergic to small talk.
Meet the Strategist
Alicia Alexander is a strategist, storyteller, and the founder of Everle Consulting.
For more than a decade, she has helped brands clarify their message, build meaningful connections, and turn good ideas into work that truly resonates. Known for her thoughtful approach, sharp instincts, and ability to see both the big picture and the details that matter, Alicia brings a unique blend of strategy and heart to everything she does.
When she's not helping businesses tell better stories, she's spending time with her children, Halle and Everett, curating the perfect playlist, or convincing others that yacht rock deserves far more respect than it gets.
Fun Facts: Alicia is a lover of clever banter, thoughtful gestures, true crime, and well-timed puns. She has two cats, Estelle and Collette, who totally run the show.
